BOPP Label Performance

Taizhou Gete Color Printing is a heat transfer film and label supplier as well as a designated printing trademark unit in Taizhou city, striving to provide customers with the best quality services.

BOPP: Biaxially oriented polypropylene film. Commonly used BOPP films include: ordinary biaxially oriented polypropylene film, heat-sealable biaxially oriented polypropylene film, BOPP labels, and biaxially oriented polypropylene pearlized film.
Uses: mainly used for printing, bag making, adhesive tape and compound with other substrates.
Performance: * High transparency and gloss * Excellent ink and coating adhesion

The production of BOPP film is to make the melt of high-molecular polypropylene into a sheet or thick film through a long and narrow head, and then in a dedicated stretching machine at a certain temperature and set speed, simultaneously or in steps A film made by stretching in two vertical directions (longitudinal and horizontal) and subject to appropriate cooling or heat treatment or special processing (such as corona, coating, etc.).
Introduction of BOPP film
Commonly used BOPP films include: ordinary biaxially oriented polypropylene film, heat-sealed biaxially oriented polypropylene film, cigarette packaging film, biaxially oriented polypropylene pearlescent film, biaxially oriented polypropylene metallized film, and matte film.
BOPP film is a very important flexible packaging material. BOPP film is colorless, odorless, odorless, non-toxic, and has high tensile strength, impact strength, rigidity, toughness and good transparency.
The surface energy of BOPP film is low. Corona treatment is required before gluing or printing. After corona treatment, BOPP film has good printing adaptability, and can be printed in color to get exquisite appearance effect, so it is often used as the surface layer material of composite film.
BOPP film also has shortcomings, such as easy to accumulate static electricity and no heat sealability. On a high-speed production line, BOPP films are prone to static electricity, and a static eliminator is required. In order to obtain a heat-sealable BOPP film, the surface of the BOPP film can be coated with a heat-sealable resin glue, such as PVDC latex, EVA latex, etc., or solvent glue. Extrusion coating or Co-extrusion compounding method to produce heat-sealable BOPP film. The film is widely used in the packaging of bread, clothes, shoes and socks, as well as the cover of cigarettes and books. BOPP film's initial tear strength is increased after stretching, but the secondary tear strength is very low. Therefore, no cuts should be left on both ends of the BOPP film, otherwise the BOPP film will easily tear during printing and lamination. BOPP can be used to produce sealing tape after coating with adhesive, which is a market with a large amount of BOPP.
Production Process
BOPP film can be produced by tube film method or flat film method. The properties of BOPP films obtained by different processing methods are also different. The BOPP film produced by the flat film method has a higher stretching ratio (up to 8-10), so the strength is higher than that of the tube film method, and the uniformity of the film thickness is also good.
